Keto Dakota Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless skinless Chicken Breast
  • 2 tbs Dijon Mustard
  • 4 slices Bacon
  • 3 Mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Monterey Jack Cheese

Instructions

Prep

  • In a bowl coat chicken in Dijon Mustard set aside or put in fridge over night 

Cooking

  • Add bacon to a cold cast iron pan or skillet turn stove to medium heat cook until crispy
  • Remove bacon and set aside to cool
  • In same skillet with the bacon grease add the chopped mushrooms and saute until browned and tender
  • Remove mushrooms and set aside
  • Place marinated chicken in hot skillet for 5 minutes flip and cook 3 more mins
  • Top chicken in skillet with a little bit of cheese then crumble some bacon and top with mushrooms then add remaining cheese on top and cover until melted.
  • Enjoy!

    yes you can always bake first then toss in pan, with a seasoned cast iron you should never run into anything sticking. Typically I quickly cook the outside to “seal” in the juices then toss in oven to cook. Sorry it did n0t work out for you -Ryan

    for mustard… hmm maybe a dab of horseradish sauce

    Bake the chicken first. Otherwise, it will just burn un the pan without getting done in the middle. Very disappointing.

    Could this be done in a crock pot. The chicken and cook other stuff in skillet then add to crockpot
